With crisp apples, tangy cranberries, and a medley of aromatic herbs, this stuffing transforms any holiday meal into a memorable feast. Easy to prepare, it can complement turkey or chicken and brings warmth and nostalgia to your dining table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups stale bread cubes
  • 2 cups diced fresh Granny Smith apples
  • 1 cup dried cranberries (soaked in warm water)
  • 1 cup chopped sweet onions
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 2 cups low-sodium vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Toast bread cubes on a baking sheet for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté onions and celery until soft, approximately 5 minutes.
  3. Add diced apples and cranberries to the skillet, cooking for another 3-4 minutes until apples are slightly softened.
  4. Stir in thyme and sage, then gradually pour in vegetable broth while mixing gently.
  5. Combine the mixture with toasted bread cubes in a large bowl, ensuring even coating.
  6. Transfer to a greased baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until crispy.
