  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy cane pieces
  • 1 tsp red gel food coloring
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract

Instructions

  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine granulated sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir gently until dissolved.
  3. Heat the mixture until it reaches 300°F (150°C), using a candy thermometer.
  4. Remove from heat and quickly stir in peppermint extract and red food coloring until well blended.
  5. Pour the hot mixture into heart-shaped molds and insert lollipop sticks immediately.
  6. Allow to cool completely at room temperature before removing from molds.
