  • 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup milk (warm)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • Additional sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. Warm milk until just warm to the touch. Sprinkle in yeast and 1 tablespoon sugar; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Stir well.
  3. Add frothy yeast mixture, beaten eggs, and melted butter to dry ingredients. Mix until combined; knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle (¼ inch thick). Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Roll tightly into a log.
  6. Cut log into 12 equal pieces and place upright in greased muffin tins. Let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
