- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into uniform rounds (about 1/8 inch thick).
- In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme if using.
- Grease a baking dish and layer half of the sweet potato slices at the bottom. Pour half of the cream mixture over them.
- Repeat with remaining sweet potatoes and cream mixture.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Allow to rest before serving.
